Biography

Don Olsen is a Partner at Bowen, Scranton and Olsen, where he works primarily in criminal defense. He has handled cases in both Wisconsin and Ohio through his career. He has taken more than 50 cases to jury trial verdict, hundreds of motion hearings, and countless court appearances.

Mr. Olsen graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison and began his legal career as a prosecutor with the Dane County District Attorney's Office. He gained experience handling cases of all varieties at all levels of offenses from traffic cases to murder trials. While in Wisconsin Mr. Olsen also acted as an adjunct professor for the University of Wisconsin Madison teaching trial advocacy through their mock trial program.

Mr. Olsen moved with family to Columbus Ohio and went on to work for The Columbus City Attorney's Office. While working there, Mr. Olsen gained insight on the workings of the Franklin County Municipal Court and built relationships with colleagues throughout the courthouse. 

He is certified by the Columbus Division of Police in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and by the Ohio Department of Public Safety in advanced detection, apprehension, and prosecution. Mr. Olsen, while acting as a liaison for the Columbus Police Department, assisted and continues to assist in training of officers regarding Standard Field Sobriety Testing.
